People have a distorted view that the bigger something is, the better it is, and the more we get. When it comes to caring for the elderly, bigger is not better. In fact, quite the opposite is true. This came in handy when one of our elderly clients with whom we were entrusted was a woman in her late 80’s. She was single, no family nearby, alone and resistant to someone coming into her home. We found out that she was a writer in the past, loved to garden and cook. We matched her with one of our Family Friends, who was experienced as a journalist, gardener and had cooking skills. The results were a wonderful experience for this woman, which makes us feel like we are creating an environment where people benefit greatly. That makes our day.
